calendars

The New Year is well underway and if you haven’t purchased a calendar by now, it may seem too late. You might change your mind though when you see this fab free calendar on something’s hiding in here blog. Here’s a picture of mine hanging up in my office.

I purchased a printable PDF calendar to give away as gifts to friends and family last Christmas. I just love the designs from sweetbeets. Next year I’m definitely going to do something similar…perhaps even make one of my own!

It seems the holiday season rushed in and now all I want to do is put my tree up, drink some hot chocolate and listen to cheesy Christmas music. I love this owl ornament from Anthropologie. What is it with owls? I can’t get enough!

I was very lucky to have been given FuzziBunz cloth diapers from my friend Kate. I had always figured I’d go with cloth diapers but wasn’t sure how it all worked so I was glad that not only did I not have to research which ones to get but that they were free. So nice! They will fit Link for probably another few months and then I will have to make the leap and purchase my own. I’m already set on getting the FuzziBunz all in one size this time but I’m going to head over to Wildflower Diapers in Scottsdale before I decide. My friend Kim went there and said they were very helpful and will even let you try different ones on your baby to make sure they fit your child right.

The New FuzziBunz™

In telling people I was going to do cloth before Link was born I had a wide range of reactions. I thought for sure there would be some sacrifices compared to disposables but that in the long run it would be worth it financially while allowing me to do some good for the environment. To my surprise, they have been totally easy! I would highly recommend it.

I came across the Serendipity Mommy blog today and she is giving away 2 FuzziBunz diapers! Check it out to enter!

Rollip is a cool site that allows you to make your photos look like old school Polaroid. And for some true old school, here’s a picture of me that requires no aging.

It’s hard to believe that it was 8 weeks ago that we welcomed Link William Drewlo into the world. He was born on June 25, 2009 at 7:18am and weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20” long. He decided to show up two weeks early which was fine with me!

While in the hospital he was having a hard time eating and the nurse suspected he had swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid. They had to take him away to take it out of his stomach (poor guy) and when they returned, the nurse said that he kept them all entertained with the many faces he made!

Though he has many faces, he has yet to really smile for us. He seems to be a very serious little guy. He does smile in his sleep, just as he’s about to wake up. It’s super cute but very hard to get a picture of! When my Aunty Shari was here she did manage to get a good one.

My Mum and Tasha came for a visit and it was so nice to have them here. They went grocery shopping for us, cleaned out my fridge (gross!), and cleaned the house (and I mean spring cleaned – this is my Mum we’re talking about). They even took care of Link one night while we celebrated our 8th anniversary.

Link definitely likes to be held and loves his sling. You can read about the one I made on our Red Pajamas site.

And here is Link at 4 weeks old, already starting to look older!

And here he is on his blanket from Gramma Rittenhouse and wearing his ‘vintage’ pj’s. We think they were given to my sister Zena but may be even older. Too cute.

When he was 6 weeks we went for his first swim at Lynnette & Eddie’s pool. He was half asleep and not quite aware of what was going on!

And here he is at 7 weeks old. Everyone says how much Link looks like his Daddy. Like father, like son..

It’s amazing to have the little guy in our lives. What did we ever do without him?

**update: a couple hours after I wrote this Link gave me a big smile as I put him on his activity mat. Too cute! He must have read my blog.
